Sri Lanka Cricket team visited the Apeksha (Cancer) Hospital in Maharagama – Donates Medicine

Media Release  Sri Lanka Cricket donated medicines worth Rs. 1 million to the Apeksha (Cancer) Hospital in Maharagama this evening. The move was initiated by the ‘Cricket Aid,’ the Charity Arm of Sri Lanka Cricket; under the guidance of the Minister of Sports Honorable Faiszer Musthapa. The donation was handed over by the SLC CEO, Mr. Ashley De Silva to Dr. Buddika Kurukulasuriya, the Deputy Director of the Apeksha Hospital. The donation took place, while the members of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team and the officials of the SLC made a visit to the hospital this evening and spent their valuable time with the patients. Media Release  2nd January, 2018 Sri Lanka Cricket sponsored the Sri Lanka Blind Cricket team that will participate in the 5th edition of the 40-over Blind Cricket World Cup, scheduled to take place from 09th to 22nd January 2018 in UAE and Lahore. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) sponsorship package of Rs. 1.1 million covers cricket equipment and air travel of the 17-member squad and 3 officials that will take wing to Dubai on January 6. Cricket Aid Launched internationally to a packed house


Sri Lanka Cricket’s Cricket Aid was launched in London on Saturday evening (4th) amidst a packed gathering of cricketers and well-wishers. The dinner, which was preceded by a tour of Lord’s and followed by a documentary presentation that detailed the work of Cricket Aid as well as the CKD pandemic. Cricket Aid is pleased to announce that over £200,000 was pledged at the launch events, held on the 4th and 5 th (being an open event held at the Surrey Grounds, where the Sri Lanka national team met and mingled with cricket lovers residing in the UK.) SLC Cricket Aid Shramadhana Campaign


Over 300 volunteers of SLC’s Cricket Aid comprised of staff, coaches, cricketers and well wishers spent the day at a Shramadhana organised to assist the flood effected in resettlement. Cricket Aid distributed over 3000 aid packages that contained dry rations, bedding, clothing and toiletries and 10,000 Litres of potable water. Volunteers cleaned and helped in resettlement of over 500 houses. The campaign is set to continue in the coming week with School books and uniforms being distributed as a second phase.

National Cricket team joins flood relief efforts
