The Under-19 Tri-Nation Cricket Tournament played among hosts Sri Lanka, India and England commenced at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today (11). England Under-19s were beaten by India in their opening game in the Sri Lankan Tri-Series in Colombo. India Under-19s 254 for 7 in 34 overs (Sarfaraz 84, Anmolpreet 56, Green 3-28) beat England Under-19s 159 for 9 in 29 overs (Lawrence 55, Lomror 4-10) by 86 runs (D/L method) India play Sri Lanka in the second game of the tournament tomorrow, with England’s next match against the hosts on Monday.

Media Release SLC has been advised that a sample provided by Kusal Janith Perera for a random testing carried out by the ICC during the recent Pakistani Tour, has yielded a positive result for a banned substance. In view of this and in terms of the applicable ICC Regulations, SLC has recalled Perera from New Zealand. SLC will to take all steps required to have a further sample tested and make every endeavor to enable Kusal Janith Perera to resume playing cricket at the earliest opportunity in compliance with the ICC Regulations. Kaushal Silva will be traveling to NZ to replace Kusal Janith Perera in New Zealand.
