ICC Media Release The new playing conditions for Tests, One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) will come into effect with the series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand which starts in Pallekele on Tuesday 30 October. The amendments have been approved by the ICC Board following proposals made by the ICC Cricket Committee at its meeting in London in May. It is important to note that the playing conditions are applicable to international cricket and must be read together with the Laws of Cricket. Whilst a playing condition may affect the Laws of Cricket as they may apply to international cricket, these changes are not amendments to the Laws of Cricket themselves. Sri Lanka starts season as number-one ranked T20I side

ICC Media Release Sri Lanka and New Zealand will launch what will be an interesting couple of months of Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) when the two sides go head to head in a one-off match at Pallekele on Tuesday 30 October. As many as seven T20Is, featuring most of the top ranked sides, are confirmed to be played across the globe before the turn of the year, and, if Sri Lanka loses in Pallekele, then there can be a change at the top of the table on at least two occasions. Meeting with Club Representatives to discuss the new Tournament Structure

Media Release Several senior Members of the Executive Committee together with the officials of the  cricket committee and Tournament committee of SLC along with the Secretary of the Ministry of Sports met today at SLC head office together with the representatives of the clubs to discuss the new tournament structure which was formulated  for the new season. Sri Lanka fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against West Indies

ICC Media Release The Sri Lanka team has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during the side’s ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012 Super Eight fixture against West Indies on Saturday. Javagal Srinath of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fines after Mahela Jayawardena’s side was ruled to be one over short of its target at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration. In accordance with ICC Code of Conduct regulations governing minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount. SLRC & SLBC to cover Aussie tour

Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that the Local TV Broadcasting rights for the Australian Tour of Sri Lanka has been awarded to Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation for a record figure of Rs. 22 Million.(Rupees Twenty two Million). This is the highest bid ever for Local TV broadcasting rights received by Sri Lanka Cricket. Originally, the offer made by Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation was for Rs. 17 Million (Rupees Seventeen Million) and the offer received from  Carlton Sports Network  Rs. 20.1 Million. Somerset Entertainment Ventures – Media Clarification

The New Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket assumed office on 4th July 2011. The electronic and print media has in the recent past highlighted certain issues regarding the Agreement signed between Sri Lanka Cricket and Somerset Entertainment Ventures (SEV). The Interim Committee has since it assumed office taken time to study the relevant documentation and files in this regard. Tenders were called via the media and 5 bidders submitted their bids. The SEV bid was the highest bid submitted and after evaluations were done by the Heads of Marketing and Finance, the Interim Committee duly approved the award of the tender to SEV on 7th July 2010.
