The win also carries New Zealand Women to a 2-0 Series lead, with one ICC Women’s Championship game to come in the inaugural five-ODI series between the teams. Minister of Sports, Dayasiri Jayasekara, at a recent meeting held with the Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket requested the Interim Committee to consider making permanent the current contracted staff members of SLC. Most of these staff members have been on contract for many years with their contracts being extended on a regular basis. The Interim Committee considered the request of the Hon. Minister Dayasiri Jaysekera and decided at its recent meeting to make permanent all of the office and administrative staff of Sri Lanka Cricket. The home side eased to an eight-wicket win by the Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain-hit second ODI at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday (November 4). ICC allows Marlon Samuels to bowl in second ODI

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has advised that Marlon Samuels will be allowed to bowl in the second One-Day international currently in progress in Colombo. Samuels was reported for a suspect bowling action on 19 October and was required to undergo an assessment within 14 days to be eligible to continue to bowl in international cricket. Following his decision to not to undergo assessment by the 1 November cut-off date, he was automatically suspended from bowling in international cricket effective from 2 November. Prior to the second ODI, the West Indies team was incorrectly advised by the ICC that he was eligible to bowl in this match and then selected their team based on this information. ICC Media Release West Indies has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during the first One-Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka in Colombo which concluded on Sunday, with Jason Holder also receiving a one match suspension for the offence. David Boon of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fine and suspension after Holder’s side was ruled to be two overs short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration.
