SLC announces Test Squad for single Test against Zimbabwe at the RPICS

Incident occurred with the causal workers at MRICS

Colombo, 12th July 2017; The President & Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket are perturbed by the reported incident that had occurred with the causal workers engaged as ground laborers at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Sooriyawewa last evening (11th). Sri Lanka fined for slow over-rate against Zimbabwe

Mathews has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee, while his players have received 10 per cent fines. Sri Lanka has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against Zimbabwe during the third One-Day International in Hambantota on Thursday. Chris Broad of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fine after Angelo Mathews’ side was ruled to be one over short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration. Galle, 1st July 2017, Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed today (1) that Slinga, Lasith Malinga who is just short of his 300th ODI scalp, has been diagnosed with a viral influenza. Medical reports have ruled him out of the next game and recommended a rest period of 48 hours. SLC also confirmed that Chinaman, Lakshan Sandakan had sat out the first ODI against Zimbabwe due to an attack of the same bug. Sri Lanka play their second ODI against visitors Zimbabwe tomorrow (2) at the picturesque Galle International Cricket Stadium.

Malinga issued six month suspended sentence and 50% fine


Colombo, 27th June 2017, Sri Lanka Cricket today announced the outcome of the Disciplinary Inquiry held against national player Lasith Malinga with regard to his breach of Tour Contract. The special inquiry panel comprised of SLC Hony. Secretary Mr. Mohan de Silva and SLC Chief Executive Officer Ashley de Silva and Chairman Disciplinary Committee Mr. Asela Rekawa AAL, found the player guilty of breach of contract after an inquiry held this afternoon at SLC Headquarters where Malinga accepted the charges levelled against him and tendered a formal apology. Colombo, 26th June 2017; Sri Lanka Cricket today (26) introduced former Olympic [swim] medallist and elite athlete, Australian Podiatrist Dr. Nicholas Sprenger, who has been consulted to specialize in the podiatric assessment and remedial assistance for the National Performance Squad (NPS). Sprenger is one of the Gold Coast’s most respected Podiatrist who practices in all aspects of conservative care of the foot and ankle, as well as post-operative care following orthopaedic surgery of the foot and ankle. As an athlete himself, he has a special interest in Sports Podiatry and has been working with the Queensland Academy of Sports Athletes, the Queensland Rugby League Referees and the Brisbane Lions AFL. SLC bids a fond farewell to Head Coach Graham Ford


Colombo, 24th June 2017 Sri Lanka Cricket today (24) announced that Graham Ford, would be stepping down from his post as Head Coach of the Sri Lanka National Team. The 56 year old South African affectionately known as ‘Fordy’ was headhunted for the post in February last year and has in his quiet and confident way steered the team to many a milestone.
