Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket met today to consider the revised ICC proposals and decided to reconvene the ExCo on Monday after having evaluated the proposals financially and otherwise. Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that it has decided to release Lasith Malinga for the forthcoming Big Bash Semi Final to be played in Australia. Lasith Malinga was recalled to the country for a Intense Training Programme and since he had shown a tremendous improvement in his fitness levels in the said training programme the National Coaching Staff together with the National Selectors took the decision to release him to play in the Big Bash. As per the special request made by the Management of the Melbourne Stars to SLC, Lasith Malinga was given permission to proceed for the Semi Final which will be played on the 4th of February 2014.

The SLC Executive Committee met today(23rd January) and the Draft F&CA Commercial Rights Working Group Position Paper was taken up for discussion. The Committee agreed to write to the President of the International Cricket Council and inform them the unanimous view of the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket is that the said Position Paper needs to be deferred and re-considered in toto on a future date. They further decided to discuss with the General Membership of SLC too at a future date.
