ICC Media Release Sri Lanka has retained its position as the number-one ranked Twenty20 International (T20I) side after the annual update of the Reliance ICC T20I Rankings Table was announced on Thursday. The annual update was released just two days before Pakistan takes on defending ICC World Twenty20 champion West Indies in a two-match series, starting on 27 July in Kingstown, St Vincent. Media Release Sri Lanka Cricket regrets to announce that the Mahindra SLPL 2013 scheduled to commence on 10th August 2013 will not take place due to the fact that the Franchisees have failed to pay the Franchise Consideration for this year and more importantly have failed to deposit with SLC the bank guarantees to secure the player payments. In the circumstances the Mahindra SLPL 2013 will not take place.

Media Release Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has been suspended for two ODIs while his players have been fined 40-per-cent of their match fees for maintaining a slow over-rate during their one-wicket defeat against India in the final of the tri-series in Trinidad on Thursday. David Boon of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the suspension after Sri Lanka was ruled to be three overs short of their target at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration.
