Tickets for the charity Gala dinner hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket to facilitate the Sri Lankan National Cricket Team in Australia have been sold out according to the organizers. The proceeds from the ticket sales is for the ‘Cricket Aid’ initiative, which is Sri Lanka Cricket’s only charitable arm. The team and well-wishers will be hosted to a grand reception on Saturday 18th from 6:30pm onwards at Cathies Lane Wantirna, South Victoria. At the reception well-wishers will also be afforded the opportunity of taking photographs with their favourite cricketers. Come 13th February, the National team will be embarking on a tour of Australia which includes three International T20 matches.

The National Selections Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket is expected to meet this Tuesday (7) to decide the national squad for three T20 matches that Sri Lanka will play against Australia from 15th to 23rd February. 2nd February, 2017, Colombo: A three-member Independent Committee appointed by Sri Lanka Cricket convened their first meeting at SLC headquarters this afternoon to discuss matters pertaining to allegations of foul play at a recently concluded Tier ‘B’ match. The committee comprises of Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee Asela Rekawa, former national player Jayantha Paranathala and head of Security and Investigations at SLC Sarathchandra Liyanage. SLC officials have stated that the process will be expedited judiciously and a decision is to be reached. The management of the SLC has categorically stated that it will not condone any illegal acts that destroys the spirit of the game or brings disrepute to the sport and the board.
