Media Release Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that the Tournament Committee of SLC has decided to postpone the AIA Premier Limited Over tournament by 1 week due to the prevailing inclement weather condition. The Tournament Committee decided on the new dates in concurrence with the Premier Clubs and proposed the below amended schedule. As per the new dates, the tournament will begin on 27th November and will conclude on 30th December 2015. The dates of the League tournament will remain the same. Media Release Following disciplinary proceedings duly taken by Sri Lanka Cricket arising from charges that Mr.Jayananda Warnaweera failed to attend two Interviews scheduled to be held by the Anti-Corruption Unit of the ICC and failed to cooperate with and assist the Investigation being carried out by the Anti-Corruption Unit and related charges of misconduct, the Interim Committee of SLC has, acting in terms of the Constitution of SLC, suspended Mr. Warnaweera from cricket, cricket management and representation for a period of 02 years.

Media Release Binura Fernando is having a hamstring injury and will not be fit for selection for the 2nd T20 game to be played tomorrow against the visiting West Indies Team. The selection committee has taken a decision to replace Binura Fernando with Dasun Shanaka for tomorrow’s game. The Hon. Sports Minister has approved the above selection.
A combined effort from Sri Lanka’s batsmen and spinners helped it win a high-scoring first Twenty20 International by 30 runs against West Indies in Pallekele on Monday (November 9). All of Sri Lanka’s top five batsmen made scores in excess of 35, all of them at a rapid pace, to help the home side post a huge 215 for 3 in its 20 overs. Media Release Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to inform that Captain of the Women’s National Team Shashikala Siriwardene was injured while batting in the last match. A delivery crushed her right thumb resulting in a displaced fracture. As advised by the doctor she will be immobilized for 4 weeks. Oshadi Ranasinghe will join the team as a replacement. Chamari Atapattu has been appointed as the Captain and Sripali Weerakkody as the Vice Captain of the team.
West Indies bowler Sunil Narine has been reported with a suspect bowling action during the third ODI against Sri Lanka, which the home side won by 19 runs in Pallekele on Saturday. The match officials’ report, which was handed over to the West Indies team management after the match, cited concerns about the legality of the 27-year-old’s deliveries. Narine’s bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He is required to undergo testing within 14 days, and, during this period, Narine is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known. This is in respect of the 12th of November being declared a National Day of Mourning. Tickets purchased for the 12th November (2nd T20) are valid for the 11th November 2015. As a mark of respect, Musical Instruments (Papare Bands) will not be permitted to be played on this day.
