SLC Coaching Staff Trained in ‘Coaching Software’

The National Coaching Staff of SLC was engaged in a 3 day intensive training program at the SLC headquarters (Oct. 5 to 7) with regard to the usage of a New Zealand produced software   ‘Silicon Coach’. This software helps the Coach to analyze the player better once the video footage is installed to the computer. This information is of help to all Coaches whether it may be in batting, bowling or fielding. A distinctive & unique feature of this software was that it could pick up valuable information which cannot be seen to the naked eye during practice sessions. CWC tickets on sale in Sri Lanka this week

The opening of ticket reservations in Sri Lanka for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 were announced at a media briefing held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota, Southern Sri Lanka. The first official ticket was presented early April, 2010, to President Mahinda Rajapaksa, at a ceremony held in Colombo where the official mascot – Stumpy – for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 was also unveiled. Siriwardana guides Lankan ladies to victory

Sri Lanka skipper Shashikala Siriwardena top-scored with an unbeaten 78-ball 67 to help her side post a competitive 220 for six in their 50 overs against Pakistan. At the Witrand Cricket Club, Pakistan appeared to be cruising to the target at 147 for two in 31.5 overs when tragedy struck. Bismah Maroof (24: 50b) holed out and the floodgates were opened. Maroof and top-scorer Nain Abidi (54: 92b, 2×4) had put on 60 for the third wicket. From there on it was a steady procession as Pakistan eight wickets for 47 runs to be bowled out for 189 to be handed a 31-run defeat. Shashikala Siriwardana was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball as well as she picked up 3-31.
