SLC launches cricket coaches’ training in Kandy

The Coach Education Unit of Sri Lanka Cricket, Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and Sports Science Unit of Sports Ministry jointly organized a Programme for the first time to educate cricket coaches on finer points of the game as well as other requirements that will help to mould a complete cricketer covering strength and coordination, basic, first aid, endurance, general theory of training, sports nutrition etc. The programme was held at the Trinity College Pavilion from May 7 to 9 and 85 cricket coaches from Kandy, Matale, Nuwara-eliya, and Badulla attended. Battle of the Swarnaneela – The first ever inter-school girls cricket big match

February 16th, 2017 will soon be a red-letter day. Today a historical women’s big match is currently ongoing at the Panadura Municipal Grounds. The two prominent girls’ schools who are competing today is the Wadduwa Central College and Panadura Mahanama Navodya College. The convener for Sri Lanka women’s cricket Apsara Singhabahu Tillakaratne was the chief guest at this historical inaugural women’s school big match. Prima Champions Cup to Commence for the 10th Consecutive Year

The Prima Group, in partnership with Sri Lanka Cricket, has made all plans to commence the Prima Champions Cup 2016. Under 15 Inter-district and inter provincial Tournaments for the 10th consecutive year. The press conference was held at the SLC headquarters on the 13th of September 2016 with the participation of all senior officials from SLC and Prima Group. This year’s Final match will be held on the 29th & 30th September at SSC Grounds, Colombo. The distribution ceremony of Cricket Balls and Mattings to cricket playing Schools identified by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association was held at the Ministry of Sports premises today, with the participation of  Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, Minister of Sports together with Hony.
