Ten years after scoring his maiden Test century, Upul Tharanga got his second as Sri Lanka did most of the running in the first Test against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on the second day. Tharanga’s first century had come against Bangladesh in March 2006, and his 110 not out on Sunday (October 30) helped Sri Lanka finish on 537. Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to announce that veteran spinner Rangana Herath will lead the Sri Lanka Team in the 2 Test Series against Zimbabwe commencing on the 29th October in Harare. Hearth, who announced his retirement from the shorter format of the game in June, was the pivotal bowling performance is Sri Lanka’s historic Test Series win over Australia in August this year. Herath is lauded as a consistent and prolific spinner, who’s leadership skills will be put to good use in this Test Series.
