SLC conducts two more ICC Level 01 Coaching Programs

Media Release  21st March 2019  Sri Lanka Cricket conducted another two ICC Level 01 Coaching programs in the recent weeks, with the attendance of 48 School and Club Level Coaches, from several areas of the country. The first of these two programs was held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium covering the areas of Matale, Polannaruwa, Anuradhapura and Dambulla and was taken part by 24 Coaches. The second program was conducted at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium with participants coming from Nuwara-Eliya, Kegalle and Kandy Districts.  This program also had the attendance of 24 Coaches. Media Release  21st February, 2019 Sri Lanka Cricket Wednesday (20th February, 2019) provided 77 First Class Cricketers with annual domestic player contracts. The ‘Players’ were selected for contracts based on the performances shown during the Major Club Tournament of 2017/18 season. 26 first class players who performed at the highest level during the concluded domestic season; 22 players under the ‘Emerging Category; ‘ 06 former national players and 12 national players, who have represented Sri Lanka in the recent past, but not considered for main contracts, are among the players selected to be given new contracts for the year 2018/2019 season. SLC Conducts ICC Level 01 Coaching Program

Media Release 06th February, 2019 Sri Lanka Cricket conducted two programs in ICC Level 01 Coaching Course in the recent weeks for nearly 50 schools and club level coaches; who came from several parts of the country. Conducted by the Coach Education Unit of the SLC, the first of it was held from the 22nd to 25th January at the SLC High Performance Center at RPICS, while the second program was held from the 30th January to 02nd February, in the District of Ampara. Sri Lanka Cricket to felicitate 49 past cricketers

Media Release 03rd September, 2018 Sri Lanka Cricket under the guidance of Minister of Sports Honorable Faiszer Musthapa decided to felicitate 49 past cricketers, who represented Sri Lanka, prior to obtaining full membership of the ICC, as a move to honor them for the services rendered to Sri Lanka Cricket. Accordingly, SLC will offer grant ex-gratia payments for 12 cricketers, who are above 65 years of age and currently living in Sri Lanka. Each of the selected past cricketers will be given an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 25,000 per month, running up to one year and renewed thereafter at the discretion of the SLC Management. SLC Demarcates responsibilities at International venues

Media Release Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce the following demarcation of responsibilities at International venues of the SLC. Accordingly, Mr. D. A. J Sampath, was appointed as the ‘’National Curator,’’ effective from 01st September, 2018. He will be responsible for the preparation of wickets and grounds at International venues. The appointment comes, following a recommendation made by Mr. Godfrey Dabrera Manager of International Venues and Stadiums of SLC to appoint a dedicated ‘’National Curator;’’ owing to the increased workload at International venues. Media Release  Sri Lanka Cricket donated medicines worth Rs. 1 million to the Apeksha (Cancer) Hospital in Maharagama this evening. The move was initiated by the ‘Cricket Aid,’ the Charity Arm of Sri Lanka Cricket; under the guidance of the Minister of Sports Honorable Faiszer Musthapa. The donation was handed over by the SLC CEO, Mr. Ashley De Silva to Dr. Buddika Kurukulasuriya, the Deputy Director of the Apeksha Hospital. Australian expertise a boost to Sri Lankan coaches


A cricket workshop for national and club coaches to impart knowledge to local cricketers on the finer points in fast bowling and spin bowling was conducted  with Australian expertise last week at the indoor complex of the R. Premadasa Stadium at Khettarama.  Performance Psychologist Dr Phil Jauncey, spin bowling coach Peter Sleep fast and bowling consultant Tim McCaskil conducted the program. Dr. Jauncey, one of Australia’s foremost Performance Psychologist’s dealt on the importance of acting on a positive mind set, and Peter Sleep on the finer points of spin bowling bordering on delivery and variation while McCaskil elaborated on the fine art of fast bowling.
