Guys Asantha De Mel revealed on Sirasa Tv on Inside cricket that dis squad was selected in January.Dey had to select the squad in January and sent it to the ICC.They released the squad for the media only on March 7.The 20 20 tournament was played after the 30 man squad was selected.Wat was the point to have the 20 20 tournament after the selection??The administrators must know better.Because it was selected in January jeewantha,Sachithra and Janaka Gunarathne have been ignored.The selectors just selected some famous names and included Zoysa and Chandimal.

Please try to avoid politics in Cricket. Give opportunities for the people who really qualified to be in the team. On the otherhand, please be careful whne you bring new people into the team. Cricket is not like old days it has to do with marketing, TV time, fans, a lot… of other things.. Do leave out people who were well rested in criket as many international fans are waiting to see how these will play.
I have two playes I always like to see playing … One is Sanath Jayasooriya the other is Chaminda Vass. I think you will see how they will come out in the IPL. ප්රශ්නය මෙය නම් එය පිළිතුරු නැති ප්රශ්නයක් බවට පත්වී තිබෙනවාද? ක්රිකට් තේරීම් කමිටු සාමාජිකයන් සහ ශ්රී ලංකා ක්රිකට් බලධාරීන් මේ ප්රශ්න දෙස බලන්නේ කෙසේද? මේ දෙපිරිසේ දුර නොදකින ක්රියා කලාප නිසා අසාධාරණයට පත්වූ ක්රීඩකයන් කෙතෙක් සිටිනවාද? එම අසාධාරණකම් ක්රීඩකයන්ට පමණක් සිදු වන්නක් නොවන්නේ ඒ ජාතික සම්පත්වලින් වැඩක් නොගැනීමෙන් මෙරට ක්රිකට් ක්රීඩාවටත් හානියක් සිදු වන නිසයි. එපමණක් නොව ඒ දක්ෂයන්ගේ ස්ථානයට වෙනත් දුර්වල අයෙකු ඇතුළත් කිරීමෙන් තවත් ආකාරයකින් මෙරට ක්රීඩාව පරිහානියට යැම සිදු නොවෙන්නේද?

Yes I do agree with Salika.I am from India and recently made a visit to Sri Lanka.I had to get done lot of things but I never forget to see this Lahiru Thirimanne’s batting as he played his debut against India.even though he scored 22 runs in that match he has a great potential and great future for sure.Sri Lanka will not be able to forget him in terms of the selection for even 20/20.

Jeevantha Kulathnga is far more the emerging cricket star. He must be included in T 20 and O.D.I. definitely. The selectors has made a big mistake in omitting very well performing Kulathunga. He is a t a peak of his carrier. Every body should stand against this decision.

My question is
What is the purpose of having a T20 Provincial tournament in Sri Lanka.Though they(selectors) say that they take good players emerged from the this inter-provincial Tournament,SL cricket fans couldn’t see the transparency of this purpose.
Previously in 2009 the player of the series I De seram wasn’t selected for any match in 2009 T20 world cup.
But this time it is too worse neither the player of the series and the bowler of the series.
As fans we need reasons for not selecting Jewwantha for the T20 squad and for selecting Jehan mubarak and Dilhara fernando who were unable to perform well in the provincial tournament(comparing to others in the squad) and in the previous international tours. ??????????????????????????????????????????????

6 batsman –
Dilshan/mahela/sanga/Dinesh chandimal/jeewantha/chinthaka jayasinghe
3 all rounders – anjelo mathews/thisara perera/jeewan mendis (leg spin all rounder)
6 bowlers -chanaka welagedara/murali/sachithra senanayake/lasith malinga/isuru udana/suraj randiv

I think selectors didnt hv an option other than selecting MP Sanath Jayasuriya. I feel that Mahela might open with dilshan. Sanath is also there. so there was no place for Jeewantha anyway. after careful consideration I have come up with a theory on how they select their players. They get a tiled room and on each tile is the name of a cricketer. Then they get a chicken and cut it’s head of and chuck it inside the room and after the chicken runs around while it still has some life left and eventually it lands on a tile with the players name in it he gets selected. They also have spare chickens incase some of them land in the same one and I think this is a new and very innovative way of doing things and lets see if it works out

HAHAHA! You are all fooled! This is not the real squad. This is an early April fools joke. You all fell for Asantha’s latest trick. He is laughing at you all right now. I can’t believe everybody fell for this. Inclusion of Nuwan Zoysa, Sanath, Bandara, Pushpakumara, etc is a dead giveaway. OF COURSE the best performers in the IP T20 will be in the 30-man squad. You think the selectors are so stupid?

It’s a good decision to include Dinesh Chandimal in the team. But i’m surprised to see Jeewantha Kulathunga is not included in the squad. i’m more surprised to see that chamara silva and m.Pushpakumara included in the squad.

Jeewantha Kulathunga and Janaka Gunarathna should be a must. If they are not picked by the brilliant performances why were they included in the provincial tournament, which the selectors said earlier that will determine the squad????????????
The best performing players at the present should be included because they have the touch…..when others begin to feel the heat the train will be long gone…This is T20!!!!!!!!!!
