Sri Lanka Cricket Umpires Committee will conduct a five day training programme for umpires in the Jaffna district from 21st to the 25th of April both days inclusive. The seminar will be conducted by instructors K.T. Francis and G. J. Pusparajah in Tamil.
The above programme and the examination are conducted under the guidance of the Manager Umpiring committee.
Umpires in the Jaffna district have been given this opportunity after eight years.
Sri Lanka Cricket has not only distributed cricket equipment to schools in the North and East but has enhanced the skill levels of coaches by conducting a programme for coaches in the Jaffna, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Mannar and Vavuniya districts.
Sri Lanka Cricket conducted a similar seminar way back in 2002.
