Change in the “A” team squad for tour of England

Minister of Sports Honorable Mahindananda Aluthgamage, has authorized the withdrawal of two squad members from Sri Lanka’s “A” team, namely the originally appointed Vice Captain Dinesh Chandimal and Dhammika Prasad who have been called for National duty during the forthcoming home series against Australia.

The above mentioned players will be replaced by Kushal Janith and Kanishka Elvitigala.

Dimuth Karunaratne will be the Vice Captain to Kaushal Silva, for the the Sri Lanka “A” team tour of England, this summer.

    Well I expected the selectors to give dimuth karunaratne a extended run to show what he’s capable of doing , leaving him in england and getting chandimal & prasad down mean tharanga is bak in the squad i suppose .. I feel dimuth should have been given a chance way before the 5th game in the series , persisiting with kandambi was quite a joke to me.. if dimuth is dropped just after two matches i feel that it’l be a blow on e bloke .. i hope he’l get some good runs during the Ateam tour so that he’l be back in the reckoning for maybe the south african tour atleast ..
