Sri Lanka Cricket has launched yet another enthusiastic programme to train cricketers in a number of quintessential disciplines, in a bid to make them true ambassadors of the game in the long run.
This is considered a timely act by Sri Lanka Cricket especially at a time when more youngsters are taking to the game even from rural areas.
Significantly, present administration of Sri Lanka Cricket had taken a bold decision to increase the number of contracted players to 77 from 26 since of late. Accordingly, it has been planned to encompass all 77 contracted players including present national players in this extensive training programme which will be conducted through the year 2010.
The training has been designed on a comprehensive training need analysis which was done by SLC’s newly created Human Resources department with samples of players from each level having identified their specific skills gaps.
This programme of training will focus subjects and disciplines in both core and soft skills scopes ie: English, Public Speaking, IT Training, Psychology & Behavioral Science, Social Etiquette and Personal Grooming. Sri Lanka Cricket in particular, ensured that this training would be conducted by resource personnel of high repute with an impressive track record in corporate and community training and also latest adult training techniques incorporated in this training exercise.
SCL is confident that Sri Lanka Cricket will benefit immensely from the training thus enhancing their skills to be second to none in the international theatre of Cricket.
