India Bat Sri Lanka Out of the Game

By Brian Thomas

India came up with a cracking performance to give Sri Lanka, another leather hunt in Mumbhai today. Virendra Shewag scored the fastest test 250 in the history of the game to remain unbeaten on 284, which included 40 boundaries and 7 big sixes. Rahul Dravid gave the Indian hero of the day the able support to remain unbeaten on 62.

India have scored their highest ever in a single day surpassing their previous highest against Sri Lanka in Kanpur of 417 runs, by scoring 443 for 1 wicket today. The last session was a mockery to test cricket as the Indian pair amassed 183 runs in 33.4 overs.

Sri Lanka bowlers were not good enough on yet another flat track that gave a glimmer of hope to spinners yesterday. Credit to shewag, he simply showed the world what a class act he is in these conditions. He not only reached a hall mark of 6000 test runs but also added his 4th double hundred to his runs bank.

As far as Sri Lanka are concerned you don’t need a rocket scientist to tell you they are out of this test. Today’s performance by all three Indian batsman has sealed the series in their favor. For India the men in the hut awaiting their turn to bat are Tendulkhar,Laxman,Yuvraj Sing, Dhoni and Harbajan . India will look to add another 300 runs and give their visitors 2 full days to sought themselves out on a  pitch that will help  both Harbajan  and pp Ojah, the Indian spin duo

I hope I’m proved wrong, cricket is a funny game, but to be specific Sri Lanka have their work cut out to save this test.
