Indian batsman will want batting practice before the big final this Wednesday. Dinesh Karthic and Gautham Gambir got into the act with Dinesh once again looking to penetrate the infield with his improvised stroke play. Gambir for reasons best known to him seems to play second fiddle by nudging and pushing the singles and only taking risks against lose deliveries. The pair by the 11th over was on course with 64 runs on the board. Karthic stroking it well on 39 threw it away when he tried pulling a back of a length delivery from Shaiful Islam and was well caught by keeper Mushfiqur Rahim.
With India marching on Gautham Gambir, played a nothing stroke coming down the pitch and misreading the line and was bowled neck and crop for 41 giving the home team their second wicket with the score on 87.
Yuvraj Singh who came in at the fall of Gambirs’ wicket was a touch rusty. He drove shaiful Islam past the man at extra for a sweetly timed four but played the very next ball down the wrong line to be adjudicated LBW by umpire Simon Tauful for 13, and India lost their 3rd wicket with the score on 133.
India cruised to 201 with Dhony stroking 32 from 35 deliveries while Virat Kholi spent yet another day in office doing what he is accustomed to and that’s runs and more runs. The Indian skipper who scampered hard to beat a direct throw fell victim in the next over to his counterpart Shakib Al Hassan when he tested the dew filled fingers of Imrul kayes, who did well to hang onto the catch, to earn the 4th scalp for his team.
Virat Kholi batting with so much authority, almost threw it away when Ashraful missed a straight forward catch at deep mid wicket with Kholi on 84. He also got life number two when wicket keeper Musfiqur Rahim fumbled with a stumping chance, in the very next over. It was a comedy of errors when Ashraful put down another straight forward chance this time from the willow of Suresh Raina. The 40th and the 41st over very eventful but will be tagged as 3 chances thrown away by the Bangladeshis.
India cruised to a great win by 6 wickets in 43 overs with Virat kholi UN beaten on 102 in 95 balls with 11 scintillating boundaries.

Bangladesh put into bat by MS Dhoni, was given a torrid time by the Indian seam bowlers, Sreesanth and Sudeep Tyagi. The Indians rested premier bowlers namely Zaheer Khan and Harbajan Singh for today’s game , which is of academic value only , as India and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the finals scheduled for Wednesday.
The Bangladeshi top order was guilty of poor shot selection. Imrul Kayes who has had a decent run so far with a top score of 70 against India in his first outing, cut a long hop from Tyagi straight into the waiting hands of Kholi at short extra cover and was dismissed for 9 with Bangladesh on 10.
Ashraful who made 75 in the first match against Sri Lanka, seem to be in a hurry today .The talented right hander, heard the sound of timber off Sreesanth when he went down the pitch , missed the line of the delivery and the ball ricocheted off his pads and hit the wood work.
Tamim Iqbal batting with some fluency gifted his wicket to Ashis Nehera, when he mistimed a drive, for Tyagi to take relatively an easy catch at mid off. The left hander dismissed for 17 and with Bangladesh on 60 for 3 wickets, the home team lost the momentum.
Musfiqur Rahim who is a very useful bat got undone by Yuvraj Sing paying the big prize for playing too early for Suresh Raina to grab at an easy catch at short extra cover with the home team getting into deeper trouble, on 67 for 5.
India got a bonus wicket of Raqibul Hassan , batting on 28 ,he backed up too far from the non strikers end , Yuvraj very smartly back flicked the ball straight to the stumps off his own bowling and Raqibul Hassan was found wanting and ball watching outside his popping crease. Bangladesh was in deep trouble on 95 for 5 at the start of the 24th over with half the side back in the hut.
Mahmudulla joined his captain Shakib Al Hassan and quite rightly consolidated the innings which was great to see. The pair batted with confidence but Dhoni gave his counterpart a life when he was on 38.
The home team skipper went onto make 85 and was involved in a 106 run partnership facing 97 deliveries and thumped 8 fours and a big six. He was dismissed in the first power play over caught by Dhoni off Ashis Nehera. Shakib Al Hassan will be a disappointed man missing out on a well deserved century.
Bangladesh made 47 runs in the final batting power play overs thanks to Riaz Mahamadulla who made an unbeaten 64 off 80 balls to help Bangladesh reach 247 for 6 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
From an Indian perspective the target is well within their reach, however they will be concerned that part time bowler Yuvraj was the best , while their recognized seam attack got a hiding and leg spinner Amit Mishra who bowled so well yesterday against the Sri Lankans was expensive giving away 58 runs. The other factor of concern is that their bowlers gave away 95 runs in the last ten overs which is not good reading.
