Malinga to bolster Lankan attack

Sri Lankan Fast Bowler Lasith Malinga will be making his maiden appearance in the ongoing ODI series against India when he will make the field this afternoon for the 3rd ODI to be played at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Malinga was not considered for the first two ODI’s as the Fast Bowler was suffering from a viral infection. Malinga has recovered 100% and is set to unleash his deliveries at the Indian top order at full force.

This will be welcome news for the Sri Lankan camp as their bowling ranks are hit with injuries to Thilan Thushara, Muttiah Muralidaran, Dilhara Fernando and the latest victim Angelo Mathews.

Team sources also revealed that right arm Seamer,  Nuwan Kulasekera will also be given the green light to open the bowling along with Left armer Chanaka Welegedara.

Malinga and Kulasekera will be replacing Suranga Lakmal and injured Angelo Mathews who played in the 2nd ODI at Nagpur.

The 5 match series is levelled at 1-1.
