Pakistan under 19 win Practice game by 42 runs

The Pakistan under 19 team,dished out an excellent display at the newly re layed Dharmaraja turf when they played against Sri Lanka under 19 Chairmans X1 2nd team in Kandy yesterday.

Pakistan who took first lease of the pitch were impressive.Baber Azam scored a century while his cousin Hammad Azam made an impresive 83. Pakistan in their 50 overs made 251 for 5 wickets. Sri lankan bowlers lacked the much needed penitration.Lahiru Jayaratne got among the wickets  with 2 for 56.

Sri Lanka youth got off to a dream start. openers put on 83 runs for the first wicket. With spin being introduced they collapesed to 6 for 112.Akushu Fernando then did the consolidating job for Sri Lanka Chairmans X1. The youngster from St Peters made 53 to take the Chairmans eleven to some sort of respectability to get pass the 200 run mark. However his effort was not good enough as he ran short of partners at the the other end.

The official tri nation series starts tommorrow with Pakistan playing against Bangladesh at Pallekela.
