Pakistan Under 19s and Sri Lanka Under 19s battle for supremacy in Dambulla today

Sri Lanka who got the better of Bangladesh in their first outing will play host to a strong Pakistani line up at the Rangiri Dambulla stadium today.

The limited over encounter is scheduled to get underway at 10am. Sri Lanka excelled against Bangladesh thanks to an excellent batting display by Trinitian, Akila Jayasundera and Mahindian Romesh Buddika, the pair batted with maturity. Akila made 82 while Romesh an unbeaten 54.  In pursuit of 212 for victory, the home team reached the target with the D/L method due bad light.

Pakistan too won their encounter with Bangladesh in their first outing at Pallekela last Saturday. The Duckworth Lewis method came into the equation yet again due poor light.  Pakistan certainly looked the better outfit; however none of the Pakistani top order batsman went onto to make big scores. This certainly is a worry for the visitors. Pakistan has an excellent bowling attack. The spin department led by wrist spinner Usman Qadir will be handful for the Sri Lankan youth if they fail to use their feet on the Dambulla pitch. It is envisaged that both teams will play the same combination that got the better of the Bangladeshis.
