SLC Conducts Level 2 Coaching Course

Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that the SLC ‘Coach Education Unit’ ‘with the assistance of Coaching Staff from the ‘National Coaching Department’ conducted their second Level 2 Coaching Course which was incidentally the first ever Course open to the Coaching fraternity of Sri Lanka. The inaugural Course of this nature was successfully conducted earlier this year for Premier Club & SLC Provincial & District Coaches.

All tutors at this Course were our very own qualified Sri Lankan experts with years of experience in the Coaching field. The Course which spanned over a six day period was conducted at the Kettarama International Cricket Stadium.

The eligibility of a Coach to follow the SLC Level 2 Coaching Course is that he or her should be involved in active Coaching presently & posses a Level 1 Coaching Qualification with four years of experience to be offered a placement by the SLC ‘Coach Education Unit’

In the past Courses of this nature were Conducted by Cricket Australia in Sri Lanka which came at a hefty cost to SLC. Many Coaches in Sri Lanka to this date travel overseas for this purpose utilizing large amounts of money to follow a program of this nature.

While the existing Sri Lankan Level 1 Coaching Course Certificate is certified & endorsed by the ICC, the newly formulated SLC Level 2 Coaching Course syllabus has been forwarded to the ICC & is awaiting their approval at this time.

Physical Training – Dharshana Weerasinghe

Advanced Coaching – Heshan De Mel

Cricket Communication – Heshan De Mel

Presentation Skills – Heshan De Mel

Game Sense and Skill Association – J C Gamage
