The names of The best Schoolboy Batsman of the year 2009; Angelo Perera & The best Schoolboy Cricketer of the year 2008,Umesh Karunarathne(AllRounder) who scored the highest number of runs & took the highest number of wickets respectively in the last U-23 T’ment should come before 32 year old Warnapura( he is too old to be in this side).

Chandimal who has already scored many good knocks, with 1 double century against the SA A side or any other batsmen Kaushal S,Dimuth K,Lahiru T,Bhanuka R& spinners Sachithra S,Seekkuge, Prasanna,Sajeewa Weerakoon do not need any extra experience. They are far better players than the most of the established players. They are players of Class since the age of 15. It is just to please the seniors & to provide opportunities to their favorites in the forth coming Australian tour scheduled for Jul/Aug that the Selectors are sending them to Eng.
One important thing that SLC should do is to send some past experienced intelligent cricketers to India & give them a good training on the subject of team selections. Otherwise extremely talented youth in SL won’t get a chance to play for the Country as Tendulkars Miandads did for the respective Countries. I am sorry to admit that the world hasn’t seen the SL’s best players of the last 10 years.
The incompetent selectors of last 12 years have always tried to isolate quality players & try to fill those gaps with average players in order to satisfy the seniors & other interested parties. They should know that if they had try to hang on to these reckless aging hitters (batsmen who are unable to keep the ball along the ground when it matters most) we are sinking to the bottom of the table cannot be prevented. We need batsmen who can score a chanceless 50 in every 4 innings out of 5 and spinners who can spin the ball with good variations & good control over their bowling.
The quality players should be given opportunities to prove their worth in their home country rather than in the cold weather in England. It’s very funny to note that the youngsters who are good enough to tour England aren’t good enough for the home series against Australians.
