Sri Lanka A and Bangladesh A joint one-day champs


Sri Lanka A and Bangladesh A were declared joint one-day champions after the 3-match unofficial one-day series was tied at 1-all with the third match called off following heavy rain at the Sylhet Stadium in Chittagong on Sunday. The rains came down after the host team had just started to bat after Sri Lanka A totaled 240 for 9 wickets in 45 overs.

The Lankan innings was boosted by opening batsman Sadeera Samarawickrema who top scored with 75 off 83 balls inclusive of 10 boundaries. He was associated in a 130-run second wicket alliance with Ashan Priyanjan who made 53 at a run rate of 6.1 at a run rate of 6.2 an over for the second wicket. Priyanjan’s knock came off 62 containing 5 boundaries. Skipper Thisara Perera struck a run a ball 44 studded with 5 boundaries and Shehan Madushanka 29 off 25 with 2 boundaries and a six to prop up the total. Sunzamul Islam claimed 4 for 24 and Khaled Ahmed 2 for 42.

Sri Lanka A captain Thisara Perera was adjudged Player of the Series.

Sri Lanka A won the 3-match unofficial test series 1-nil with Lahiru Thirimanne the Player of the Series.
