How can you include thirimmanne in the squad. He has not got any runs in the domestic matches. Also suranga lakmal did not get wickets. Also I dont agree giving far more opportunities to players like herath and mendis. Senanayaka and pathirana will be good choices because they also can contribute with the bat too. Also in place of a fast bowler shaminda eranga whould be a better choice as he can contribute with bat and bowl.

Senanayaka wasn’t the most wicket taker in this season.he is 3rd in the list.bandara dose’t enogh to take part of it.weerakoon was the most wicket taker.followers are PM pushpakumara,randiv, senanayaka,jeewan & pathirana.in batting chandimal was the top of the list.

the bowling attack looks completely toothless without Mubai Indian Malinga and retired seniorman Muthiah Murlithrn.
Who is this Ranadiv?is he a bowler?seriously?his average and strike rate are pretty poor.
although mendis bowled well against us why wasnt he included in the final of the world cup?
was sl afraid as mendis was too weak and meek.
Here in england swann has already started talking about india tests which means we could get complacent and gift you a win.

I think, this team could be a better taem than the last world cup squad. However, always selectors missed out good performers. Whu did they fail to include Sachitra Senanayke? He is a fine bowler and the leading wicket taker in the current domestic matches. This should not be a fair decision to keep out him from the national team further.

For the ODI Squad we need to give the opportunity to the following players
1. Jeewan Mendis
good leg spining option sound batsman down the order & in terrific form lately a must for the ODI format. recently scored a double hundred for the club & took 5 wickets.
2. Banuka Rajapaksha
Young natural talent did well in England under 19 tours
3. Sachithra Senanayaka
Spinner who always takes around 3- 4 wickets in each match he plays, did very well in Australia A tour,even in fast pitches…
4. Seekuge Prassana
Does well in domestic matches and A tours… need to give the oppertunity..
+ Dinesh Chandimal who is already in the test squad. Chandimal has the capacity to be the Vice captain to Mathews ,when Dilshan retires from Captaincy so we need to start grooming these players now

Actually Tharanga is a good test player rather than ODI. In our future ODI team we shold select another youngb opening batsmen as Dilshan’s partner for ODI.

The selectors are blind i guess… if the players are refusing to take part in the tour of England let them play for money.. we are a proud nation and we are thought the young age that country comes first no matter what… this is the base for defeating terrorism in the country too.. select players who have experience in the English conditions such as Janaka Gunarathna, Schithra senanayake..etc. for the tour of England and set an example

This is a remarkable squad. It can either be seen as a squad selected with great foresight and thoughts about the development of the team to rank as No1 in both one day and test cricket or, more worrryingly one that has been influenced without the detailed knowledged of cricket. Time will tell, and the greener, seam friendly, cooler conditions in the UK will be a real test. Three cheers to Mr Dilshan for stepping up to the mark and I hope that he too can inspire the team like Sanga, Mahela, Sanath, Arjuna et al.
