Sri Lanka “A” team Manager Anura Tennakoon has been appointed as the Manager of the national team with effect from today. He will be taking over from former Sri Lankan wicket keeper batsman Brendon Kuruppu who’s contract with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) expired this month.
Tennakoon, one of the finest batsman produced by Sri Lanka in the pre test era was incidently a former CEO of BCCSL, prior to his appointment as the Manager of the “A” team. He is also a member of the current, national selection committee. SLC will be banking on his experience and temperament to guide the national team Cricketers towards success.
Meanwhile, SLC has approached the out going national team Manager Brendon Kuruppu to fill the national selectors’ position held by Mr. Tennakoon prior to this appointment.
