great match…..nice win……cool team selection…unless one thing. actually I think this is the best opening pair which we needed. Mr.Aravinda, one thing should be change if you want to win WC2010. Tharanga is useless.I think this is the most suitable opening pair.replace Chandimal for no3 position for tharanga. sanga prove that he is good at no4. If u do this, no one can beat SRI LANKA in ICC WC 2010…!!! Best of luck…!!!
It is very frustrating to see both Chamara Silva & Kapugedara have been continuously representing the National sides when there is enough young talent ( Khausal Silva, Thirimanne, Chandimal, Angelo Perera, Dimuth Karunarathne, Ashan priyanjana,Sachithra Serasinghe, Roshen Silva, Hans fernando……………) aviable in the country. The selectors should play the best XI without looking after the interest of the few greedy individuals. Anyone who has some knowledge of cricket would know that both these players who were favorites of the previous selection panel as well, have only very limited number of batting strokes to offer. That is why they have never treated the ball on its merits. If they have predetermined to defend they would defend balls which are there to be hit and very often do the vice versa and get out. Thus their shot selections are horrible to watch, as they (Chamara Silva) in particular try to play every ball towards the on- side. This is not the case with genuine batsmen, they always treat the ball on it merits. Because of these poor bating skills only both of them have been sent back home after their 1st stint with the IPL.
Since 2007, our ODI performances both at home & away have started to get better only after the emergence of Dilshan as an opener. We have lost almost all ODI tournaments when he has been used as a middle order batsman, after the retirement of Athapattu. Dilshan with his fast moving feet & hands could easily demoralize confidence of any class of bowlers. His classy front-foot drives makes the bowler under constant pressure and make things easy for his partner & the batsmen to follow, unlike his predecessor he doesn’t play very many edgy & false (play & miss) stokes thus enhancing the confidence of the bowlers and making things difficult for his partners. Together with Thilan Samaraweera & Angelo Mthews, two other complete batsmen (in this squad) with full array of strokes have been wasted as middle order batsmen. All three were brilliant schoolboy cricketers & they are always excellent in domestic level as well.
Come on Thisara..!! Give us a six!!!
As we areware this searis most important to nesure our nation team as well the board selectors. Aslo to skeeper Sanga. We are waitting the result becase before we step to the wordl cup we culd be able to undestand our cricket teem. But we do not need to afradi to India. We must show our maximum to in our talant
