When we are talking about Lahiru Pieris he was a good batsman & anothere guy is Hans Fernando. they were good batsmans n those two are my classmates too. i know them vry well & they were rly upst coz when i meet them they always sayin that they will never get a chance so its rly good to take care of them ont only those two the players lyk Chathura pieris,RumeshBhuddhika, DilshanMunuweera & BhanukaRajapaksha. these players are future in the SL cricket so we should set their mind by showing some hints that they too can come to the team so then they will fight hard to show their colours.

Ultimately we have found another batsman of real class to that of Angelo Mathews. We know both these players together with Thilan & Tharanga Paranawithana were batsmen who had brilliant school careers & immediately thereafter that is the reason why their 1st Class Batting averages stays around 45 mark or above all the time Actually they have forced their way into the National side. There are several other quality young batsmen in KhausalSilva, LahiruThi, AngeloPerera, DimuthKarunarathne, who can easily brush shoulders with the above four. There are several other brilliant batsmen in the line, such as RumeshBhuddhika, DilshanMunuweera & BhanukaRajapaksha. I still feels Nilushan Nonis & Lahiru Peiris too could come to the top if they had worked hard & concentrate more on their game. Out of all the favorite players of the previous selection panel only Mahela & Sangakkara have similar 1st Class Batting averages. That is primarily because they have been given 101 opportunities at the expense of prospective youngsters. Though the local media talks very highly about these 2 players their performances in ODIs have been very inconsistent or rather poor. That is why we had lost almost all ODI tournaments since 2007. We have lost to England once at home, thrice to India, Pakistan, nearly beaten by Bangladesh if not for the heroic innings of Muralitharan & nearly beaten by Zimbabwe during this period.
What a match it was for Sri Lanka considering it was a do-or die match for the Indians who infact should win with a bonus point to stand an chance of progressing to the Finals of the Micromax Cup,to start off SL were lucky they won the toss,which is a big advantage due to the early morning start which holds up a bit,but later in the afternoon turns into a batting paradise.
Sri Lanka bowled well to restrict India for 269 who were aiming for more than 300 at one time with Pathan cutting loose,but the SL bowled well with Thushara picking up 3,Randiv 2,Kulasekera 1,Perera 1 and Dilshan 1 wkts.Feiding was 5 star from SL with Kapugedera and Perera leading with some magnificant fielding,and the rest backing up as well.
To start the chase with the bang,Dilshan provided the fireworks but went to one too many and perished for 21,Incame the “STAR OF THE SHOW”
Dinesh Chandimal first he and Tharanga had a stand with 52 where Thranga departed in came Kapu ,where both had a stand of 114 where Chandimal went on the charge to put Indian Bowlers in peril with his big hitting ability with 5 sixes.Kapugedera scored 42, while Chandimal brought his first century in only his 2nd match,the youngest Sri Lankan to do so,he scored 111,but still more was required from SL when Samaraweera and Jeewan Mendis got together but they made no mistake of achieving the target with an over and four balls left with a partnership of 55 off 7.2 overs.
Great maturity showed by the Youngster Chandimal who is playing as Sanga’s shadow,coming at three and playing a blinder he has a huge future ahead of him in International Cricket.All the very best for you Bro,keep it coming, your our “NEW STAR OF SL CRICKET”.
